July 4 Highlights

Yesterday was the first day of a fun and relaxing long weekend. We celebrated Independence Day, the small crowd that we were, with neighbors and friends. The daily rainfall was timed well and occurred in the early morning, leaving the remainder of the day dry and comfortable.

The boys enjoyed making chalk foot- and handprints on the driveway.

They had fun with water balloons.

They enjoyed the sparklers.

We watched a fantastic display of fireworks at our neighbor's.

Then we went across the street and enjoyed watching even more fireworks, $2,000 worth (no, that's not a typ-o). And that was AFTER the guys' 60% employee discount! They were of course, spectacular. If other nearby neighbors didn't like the noise and called the police, we didn't need to worry about it because although they are against the law, and the police station averages about 300 phone call complaints every July 4th, they do not enforce it or respond to any unless it's well after midnight. Heh.
