What's the 'point'?

Well, I'm just wondering how long it is supposed to take for a finger-in-the-door injury to heal? Because I have to say, I'm not seeing much improvement. And I'm fearing that I will suffer with this pain for the rest of my life. The swelling has gone down, but I still can't bend my finger completely. And if you grab my hand and so much as touch that finger, you can't see them, but I can see lots of stars. Still.

It probably would have been better if I had broken my finger, giving me justifiable reason to properly bandage it for a proper healing. But I didn't. I just caught it in the door, which in of itself was traumatic enough.

At least I can still point with it.
