G came home from work Wednesday, rehashing part of his weekly meeting where everyone updates the boss on what they are doing and how the boss suggested a social gathering come summer, and how everybody except him applauded the idea. He's like that. Not one to mix business with personal life.
Today he came home laughing. Laughing. He tells me how at 4 PM, the wife of the owner of the company called him into her office and proceeded to tell him how she was going to pursue other dreams she has because it is time and by the way, did he want her job? She is the Director of Sales Operations who oversees personnel in Customer Service, Sales Administration, and Distribution. He showed me the Sales Organizational Chart on which his name wasn't even listed. He is a self-proclaimed lowly Reports Analyst.
And no, it wasn't an early April Fool's joke.
I told him to stop laughing and graciously accept this once-in-a-lifetime offer.
In other news worth noting, yet unrelated to careers and employment, I went to the grocery store today and there, in the freezer right where Laurie said they'd be, were Friendley's Wattamelon Roles, priced at $6.29 each. There were five in the freezer. I took them all. How funny is THAT?!
