Seen from a different perspective

My oldest son is turning 21 11 tomorrow. May his second decade be filled with more joy and laughter than his first.

A friend of mine sent me a writing assignment her son had written. Her son and my son are good friends and have a lot of common interests. I thought what was written was priceless and I hope he got an A for it!

Here it is, written verbatim:

When Tommy S. and I go snowboarding all the teenagers go "Wow that was awesome!" Last year I went to Loon MT. I thought I heard his crazy little brothers running around. The next morning I went snowboarding. I went out and to my surprise there was Tommy's Mom. He was staying at Loon - right across the hallway! My parents didn't even plan that!

"Noodles" (Tommy's nickname) is average height. He has dirty blonde hair. It waves when he shakes it. Noodles has been taller than me since the 2nd grade. He is not black he is white.

When Tommy skateboards he always wanted a half-pipe. One day I told my Dad I wanted a half-pipe. He said "I'll think about it". The next day came and he said "Yes". When we were building it Tommy came over. It was so awesome. He helped build it so it would be done faster. (a half-pipe is a wood exo-skeleton with plywood over it).

My friend Tommy is brave when he broke his collar bone and was still skating. If the teacher let people do flips he would definitely do them. He is also nice. He praises me sometimes. He would never punch me.

When Tommy and I stunt it is always crazy. We always run up trees. Tommy and I invented stalls. Tommy invented "the hang move" (when you land with 1 foot on). I invented a "cross stall" (you jump up and land your legs crossed).

That is why Tommy and I are friends.
