Hello, humidity

Well.  Summer-like weather has finally come around.  It's only a week into June, already.  It's hot and I'm hot and it's sticky and I'm sticky but I'll take it over the bitter cold any day.

Yesterday, I went with my friend to see Tim McGraw. Despite the heat, which actually was a blessing later in the evening because usually it gets really cool, it was a great show.  He knows how to entertain his crowd, that Tim.  He played old favorites and new favorites and some new songs from his yet-to-be-released album, and I can tell you that "You Had To Be There" will be his next big hit.

So here I am with this hot cowboy.  I got to meet him and stopped by a booth and had my picture taken with him his computer image.  I told you it was hot as hell.  He definitely looks better with Faith.

We didn't get home until 1:30 AM and for me, well, that's just late.  But I sucked it up and did yesterday's chores today and then relaxed by the pool.  Hey, somebody has to supervise the little ones, you know.  It's now 8:41 and the boys are supposed to be in bed but are whispering and probably dying from the heat upstairs for the night and I'm ready to call it a day myself.

Oh hey, guess what?  Since yesterday was the first really hot day where I needed to use the A/C in my 8-year-old minivan, I smiled to myself because I may not have A/C at home, but at least I had it in my van.  And of course it was not going to work for me.  Broken.  Blowing hot air at me.  If it was the end of the summer, I seriously would have sucked it up and suffered for the few hot days that were left and given myself time to put the money aside and pay for it next year.  But it's not even the official first day of summer here, people.  The back windows don't go down like they do in the newer vans.  How can I possibly let my little darlings suffer during those long road trips to the beach, or even around town with no A/C?  I have 83,000+ miles driven with this van and at least another 2 or 3 years before I put it to rest and get a new one that will come with the unwanted monthly car payment.  I have not had to sink a whole lot of money into repairs.  Yet.  But I fear I am getting way too close to that point too soon.  I'm sorry, but there is no way I am driving around all summer with the windows rolled down.  No.  Way.

Okay, I need to have some Friendly's Wattamelon Role and head off to bed.  We just put our portable Longhini Pinguino upstairs so the boys are more comfortable.  They only have two weeks left before they can start camping out in the porch on nights like this.  I love summer.  Bring it on.
