So spring has finally arrived in my neighborhood, and you know what that means! Mud season! Yes, but those frost heaves loosen up the rocks and this is the best time of year to get out there and dig them up! The trail adjacent to our house is chock-ful of lots of what I call "blue" rocks that I have been collecting for my second "blue" stone wall.
Anyway, there has been this blue rock I have noticed in our yard down near the path that leads to the trail. I once tried to extricate it from its location, but gave up when I realized it was much larger than what was visible. But today, I decided to give it another try. My little apprentice assisted, but even with his help, I wasn't able to dislodge it from around the many roots, but I haven't given up, no sir. Want to know why? Upon digging around its entire perimeter, I realized the shape looked familiar.
What do you think? Does it resemble the state of New Hampshire? Or should I dismiss the idea of posting it on eBay?
I am hopeful that tomorrow my efforts will pay off and I'll have it out of the hole!
