It's winter break for the kids this week. I had better get organized and arrange their social calendar or they'll be terribly bored and we can't have that, no sir. What a terrible mother I'd be if they didn't have every minute of every waking day planned. At least it's snowing today so we can throw some winter recreation in with sledding and skiing. The painting projects are temporarily on hold! And besides, I need a break. Don't even mention the word around here. Don't even show me a can, paintbrush, or roller! Enough already!
For my friends inquiring about the pool issue, no we did not cave and buy the Tank. It was brought to my attention that the blog was too personalized and I should get rid of it, lest the pool guys get wind and come and sue us for defacing their name. Of course, this is a worst-case scenario and would likely never happen and what is freedom of speech all about anyway. But I did realize that there was probably more information in there than I needed to include and once I deleted some of it and renamed the pool company, it just seemed like a boring yawn story. So it's gone. But not the idea, so have no fear! We are doing our homework and checking other options. A round pool would work better in the yard and we even have a location where we can put it without having to move the hot tub or lose my garden. I'll keep you 'afloat' of any new developments.
We had a nice visit with Grammy and Grandpa Lou yesterday. Better short and sweet than not at all. They are off doing things today, tonight and tomorrow so we most likely won't see them again before they board the plane to head back home. They couldn't have chosen a more cold and wintry weekend to visit. I think my mom has the curse of bringing bad weather with her when she comes, but it always seems to go that way whenever she blows into town. In blows the cold air and whatever elements it cares to carry with it, be it rain, sleet or snow. Thanks, mom. Take it with you when you go, please.
