I have 4 little monkies. Really. Every one of them has displayed characteristics similar to that of a chimp at a very early age. Heights don't deter them. A challenge to get something out of reach is overcome simply by dragging a chair over, climbing on furniture, whatever. "Hey, mom, don't get up! I can get those M&M's I saw you tuck away in the cabinet above the counter all by myself!" The kitchen chair is dragged over, the monkey climbs up onto the counter, makes sure to duck his head as he opens the cabinet door, and helps himself to the apparently not so well-hidden treats. He closes the cabinet door, again using care to duck, climbs down onto the chair, and off he goes with his treasure. But I still have to get up because I need to drag the chair back over to the kitchen table until it is needed again as a stepstool.
You sure have cute boys and, it seems, they are lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anonymous. I think I am lucky, even if sometimes they don't feel like they are. But they're young still. I keep hearing they will appreciate me when they're older. For now I must deal with all the little boy wonders, mysteries, and challenges. X4. No girly stuff in this house! Just trucks and marbles and matchbox cars and Spiderman and Batman and Rokenbok and baseball and football and...
