It's a new year, and keeping with tradition, we celebrated with our neighbors. Okay, so it was only the second year in a row, but the boys will declare it an ongoing tradition, so I don't doubt that it will be the same time and place 365 days from now. Yes, 365 days because don't forget it is leap year.
So we toasted in the new year a little earlier than most of the east coast, but who really cares? We didn't have to drive or stay awake until after midnight. We stayed safe and didn't compromise our much needed sleep. Okay, I take that back. The driving part, that is. While everybody else chose to hike through knee deep snow, I opted to drive over, even though I knew I'd meet the challenge of being able to get out of the neighbor's driveway at the end of the evening. I might have left a little bit of rubber behind, but determination paid off and my van is parked in its usual spot in the garage and I didn't have to trek through the snow. And if I had failed, well it wouldn't have been such a bad outcome. It's not like I had to worry about getting towed.
Anyway, happy new year and let's hope it's a good one and all that. Here are some highlights of the way we spent the last day of 2007.
Loved the pictures - looks like you had an exciting New Year's celebration. I am so totally jealous :)
ReplyDeleteReally, Jen, it probably looks more exciting than it was. We rang in the New Year around 8 and I was in bed before 10 and was sleeping when January 1 officially arrived. The kids had fun with the confetti!
ReplyDeleteHow many times are you going to keep changing your cover page? Make up your mind already! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been working on this all afternoon! New year, new look. Until I change it again.
