Joey's preschool had a field trip to the local police station on Wednesday. I chaperoned and took Jeffrey along.
Here they all are in the Community room for the debriefing from Officer Brad
Checking out a squad car. They probably will need pedal extensions to be able to drive, unless they are the victims being arrested.
A lot of little criminals in the holding cell means a lot of bail to post!
Joey and his buddy Anthony -- partners in crime. They haven't experienced an overnight stay or they wouldn't be laughing.
Prisoner Jeffrey already trying to escape.
Today, Joey informed me that he dialed 9-1-1 and it wasn't on Jeffrey's toy phone. I asked him what he dialed and he told me a one, a one, and the number before the number ten.
"In what order?" I asked him. "Because if you really did dial, the police will show up here any moment and it won't be funny."
Joey is clearly now nervous about his previous actions. He tells me again the numbers he dialed and when I question him further and ask if he talked to anybody, he tells me he didn't, that he just heard the beep-beep-beep sound.
Nobody is ringing the doorbell, so by now I am convinced he dialed the numbers in reverse. Thank God.
I didn't correct him on the right order of the numbers. Maybe I will educate him on another day.
