Okay, so our timing is a little off, but I had to jump when the opportunity was there. Seeing the big hole in our back yard is the proof. There's no turning back now. By the end of the week, I hope to be swimming in the pool.
No, it's nothing spectacular; just a 24' AG round. But a pool is a pool is a pool, right? After a long and hard day weeding in my garden and building more stone walls, what better way to cool off? And a bonus: I now have an endless supply of stones! Of all sizes! Never again will I have to digging for them on the trail or in the woods. This gal isn't afraid to get dirty. I was down there collecting as many as I could for future use. The landscaper just laughed at me. But he can appreciate my efforts and will move the big ones with the bobcat tomorrow. Another bonus: This should be my last suffering episode of Poison Ivy, always a tribute to my fight to keep the weeds back from encroaching into the yard. I manage to get it no matter how hard I try not to.
And yet another bonus: My garden grew! We took down a whole lot of branches and small trees that were behind the existing garden and have prime real estate where plants and flowers will get a new home. Some have been relocated already since we had to eliminate a portion of the south end of the garden to make room for the pool.
I wanted to continue the new back wall of the garden, but it will have to wait. Besides, I have to finish digging the trench for the electrical requirements. It is halfway completed, straight through the garden and will take a 45 degree turn southward along the back edge of the old outer wall to the pool. Anyway, I'll be sure to take pictures, as I know you are just dying to envision it all. Don't think I didn't just see you roll your eyes at me.
In the meantime, I tried to upload some pictures of the work in progress, but for reasons way beyond my technical comprehension, they won't appear. But they do in Stanmark Moments. So if you want to see them, go over there to have a look see.
