On -- make that --OFF -- the road again!

Four anxious kids, one impatient husband, and me. All crammed into the van heading south. First destination: Grammy's house in Myrtle Beach. We arrived there yesterday after 15+ hours of driving, tired, but relieved. We enjoyed a day of respite and dinner at the Olive Garden before turning in for the night to rest up for day 2 of rolling with the rest of the world heading south. 8:06 AM, Grandpa Lou waves us out like he's directing the airplane on the tarmac and we are off again. Grammy is along for this adventure, so I graciously give up the front passenger seat and hang in the back with Joey and Jeffrey. I only had to ask one time when we were nearing our destination for a couple of needles to stick in my eyes, because it would have surely been less painful than what I had and was enduring for the last 8 hours. So everybody is happy again, everybody has swum in the pool and the world is a wonderful place, and paradise is where I am. Really. That's what the sign says at the front entrance to my sister's home where we have moved in for the next couple of weeks. Until next time, if I can tear myself away from all the rest and relaxation, thanks for stopping by and where is my drink?

  2. All vacations must come to an end eventually, and we anticipate that we will need to head for the ol' homestead on July 12th or 13th. We'd drive, drive, drive until we hit the Fairfax, VA area and figure we'd need to stop for rest and to regain our sanity. After a night of rest, we'd complete the trip home. Is there room at the Stoker Inn on either of those dates? ;-)
