'Twas the day after Christmas
And all through the house
Little children and toys
Were scattered about
Mom looked around all the
House with no care
Hoping some miracle would
Soon just appear
Or that she could fly
Far away like a kite
En route to some paradise
At least for three nights
But surely the chaos would
Not go away
Even be more chaotic
With each passing day
No running or hiding
Could the mom even do
She must face the task
Since the house she did rule
But she counted the minutes
And hours and days
As she cleared a neat path
Through the toy-ridden maze
Until she would look all
Around at the sight
And wish all her children a
happy goodnight
For the next day would arrive
Not a moment too soon
A great day for all
When they'd head back to school!
The holidays would be over
Another year put away
A new one to conquer
That will bring what it may
The children we know will
Keep growing some more
Creating new memories
To cherish and adore
And too soon would arrive
What they look forward to
Winter vacation when
They'll claim nothing to do!
But secretly thankful
Is the mom of this quad
Blessed with their being
Creations from God
Bring on the laughter
The joy and the tears
We'll do it again
And have another great year
